October 2009

October is always a busy month for us. It seems like the month just flys by and we are all of a sudden getting ready for Thanksgiving & Christmas. Here are a few pics from the month.
Addie thinking she is SUPER COOL sitting on the potty.
(No she is not potty trained, but she loves to think she is big like her sister)

All the girls at Gardner Villages Petting Zoo.

Me and the girls next to one of many witches there.

I love Gardener Village in October.

Pumpkin picking is always one of our favorite things to do.

I love these girls!!!!!

Cute Tay!!

Mischievous Addie! She is such a Doll!

This year we decided to just paint the pumpkins instead of carve them since TJ and I end up doing the whole thing anyways. The girls had a blast with this.

HALLOWEEN 2009

My cute little Lady Bug!

Our special Princess!

It has been a fun month for all of us and we ended the month with a bunch of sickness. Addie has Bronchitis and Taylor has Swine Flu. Stay clear of the Carlson's.

San Diego Trip! (Picture Overload)

Last week we were able to spend a vacation week in San Diego. We had a TON of fun at Sea World, Disneyland, the beaches, and just hanging out at our awesome house we rented. Here are pics from the trip.

Sea World
Sea World was a lot of fun. The kids especially loved Shamu and the talking Sea Lions.

DisneyLand

DisneyLand was a fun but LONG day. We tried to jam pack our day as much as we could to get as much in as possible. Taylor LOVED seeing the princesses and was scarred to death on Splash Mountain (She even told her dad after the ride was done "That was not a great idea dad"). There are so many fun & cute things for the kids. Addie LOVED going on almost all of the rides. She thought that was the best.

The Beach

The Beach is always fun, but always a lot of work when you combine kids and sand. Addie loved the water so much we couldn't keep her out of it. On the other hand Taylor didn't really care for it at all. She just wanted to watch instead.

San Diego Temple
Us adults took turns watching each others kids (including Grandma and Grandpa) so we could all attend the San Diego Temple. This is my favorite temple of all time on the outside so I couldn't wait to see what the inside was like. Well I was right it still is my favorite temple. It is absolutely amazing inside and the people that work there are incredibly nice and gave us a full tour of the entire temple.

The House

I have to say that even though we had a couple small issues about the house it was AMAZING. It was very fancy and we had our own pool, hot tub, fire pit and fresh fruit off the trees to enjoy with just our family. It had 4 bdrms and 3.5 baths. We loved it and we are so thankful for TJ's parents for pitching in to help us afford this amazing house. Thanks again.

The Pool

All in All it was an awesome trip. The drive was not that bad. The kids better than we could have ever imagined. Even Addie (18 months) didn't have really any issues with the 11 hr drive. Thanks for all the fun everyone.

Happy Birthday Tay!!

Happy Birthday Cute Girl!!!
This past Thursday (September 3rd) was Taylors 4th birthday. I can't believe how time has just flown right by. Even though Tay has been a little bit on the naughty side lately, I just have to say what a sweetheart she really can be. She is my biggest helper ever. I love that she will help her sister with anything it doesn't matter what it is she will do it. We call Tay our little cuddle bug. She will cuddle with you pretty much any time of the day (unlike Addie). It is so fun to watch her grow up and experience new things. We love you Tay and we hope you had an awesome Birthday.
Taylor cheesing with one of her favorite presents.

Taylor asked for a Strawberry Shortcake Cake.
I am not the best cake decorator, but it didn't turn out that bad.
I am so thankful that Annalee found me this cute topper with the
flying bees and strawberries. They were so cute.

Tay got to take one friend to Chuckie Cheeses on her birthday with us.
She choose her cute little friend Allie.
They had lots of fun playing all the games with no one else there.
It is so nice when all the kids start back at school.
Thanks Sunny for bringing Allie for Tay's fun day. Lot's of fun.
(The Birthday hat is from preschool, and I couldn't get her to take it off all day)

Taylor also started her first year of preschool this past week and LOVES it. However I think I might love it a little more than her. You can't put a price on two ours of silence. If you all are wondering where Addie is in the silence part she would of course be Sleeping as always. I love her lazy ways. It is really good for Taylor to get out and socialize with other kids her age. She goes to a neighbor lady in our ward where there is ten other girls in her class. That's right Girls ONLY!! Poor Teacher.

Kenny, Camping, Cabin & B-Day

A couple of weeks ago my best friend Sunny invited me to go to the Kenny Chesney concert with her at the Rio Tinto Stadium. It was so much fun to have a night out with her and without the kids. We had a blast singing and dancing like we were back in high school. Thanks for taking me Sun. I had an awesome time.

Over the 24th we decided to go camping up by Payson Lake. Ryan, Hailee & Carter came with us along with Jake, Annalee & Avery. We went fishing and just hung out around the camp fire. I really do love to camp despite what anyone might say. I love hanging out around the campfire having smores and being dirty. I just hate the nights. I am a very afraid of the Bears eating me and my family in the night so I made everyone put their coolers and food bins in their cars for the nights so we didn't encourage any animals to come near us. (I am sure that no one will want to come camping with me again) On top of our sleepless nights we had a HUGE thunder storm the second night and TJ and I quickly found out that our tent leaks. Needless to say Addie and I ended up sleeping in the back seat of our car both nights. We had a lot of fun despite the sleepless nights that we had.

Just the two of us.

The little ones: Avery (1), Addie (16 mths), Taylor (almost 4), Carter (2 1/2)

To finish off the month we went to Bear Lake for Raspberry days. It was a little bit of a downer this year since the craft fair was half in size and pretty much all the sold there was jewelry. We always have so much fun at the cabin. We are so grateful that we have such an amazing place to stay and enjoy nature. Thanks to TJ's parents for letting us all enjoy their getaway place with them. We love it.

It was also TJ's 29th birthday this week, so I wanted to give him a little shout out. TJ is such an amazing husband and father. I couldn't have asked for more. I truly feel blessed to have him in my life. He works so hard to support our family so we can enjoy life with each other. Thanks for everything Teej. We love ya. - Jenn, Tay & Addie

More Summer Fun!

It has been a crazy couple of weeks. The week after the fourth our little family went up to Park City to spend some time with my family. All of my family have timeshares up in Park City and they all got their places at the same time including Milan and Sarah who were here from Texas. Then on Saturday my mom had planned the day full of Family Pictures, dinner & going through the South Jordan Temple. We had lots of fun and loved spending time with Milan and his family.

This past weekend we decided to take the girls and their Grandma up to RockPort Reservoir for a little fishing. We sat there for about two hours with nothing. Nobody around us was catching any fish either. We decided to start packing up to get ready to go and TJ decided to let Taylor bring in the fishing line a couple of times and sure enough a FISH!!!! What a lucky little girl. It was only about 4 to 5 inches, but it was her first fish and she was really excited about it until her dad almost hit her in the face with it and then she started to be a true girl. But once we got back in the car and headed home all she wanted to do was call her Grandpa (who was fishing in Alaska) and tell him all about it. It was so much fun to get out and do something different.

A few other random things that we did. I got to watch my cute little nephew Carter last week and the kids were getting really crazy so I decided to go outside and let them run their energy off. They loved the slip n slide. Even Addie thought that it was GREAT!! (Yes Sharri that is my garden in the background. I can't believe how many veggies I have.)

Also last week TJ decided to build the girls a tent out of blankets and chairs. They thought that was the coolest thing ever. They didn't want to ever take it down. Addie thought she was hiding from everyone and just did not want to come out. I remember doing this as a kid all the time, an I kind of forgot how much fun it was.
